The DA14533 is an ultra-low power, AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified System-on-Chip (SoC) that integrates a 2.4GHz transceiver and an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ MCU with 64kB of RAM and 12kB of one-time programmable (OTP) memory. This SoC can function as a standalone application processor or as a data pump in hosted systems. Ultra-low power can be achieved using the integrated low IQ buck-boost DC/DC converter, which remains active during sleep in Buck mode.
The radio transceiver, the baseband processor, and the qualified Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) stack are qualified against Bluetooth Core 5.3.
The DA14533 has advanced power management features that simplify system integration and reduce power consumption. With a certified Bluetooth core specification 5.3 software stack and extended temperature support, developers can quickly develop diverse application projects including tire pressure monitoring, keyless entry, wireless sensors, and battery management systems.
Optimized design for excellent energy efficiency
Based on Renesas' leading position in low-power Bluetooth SoC (SmartBond Tiny product family) and the industry's outstanding low-power technology, the new DA14533 integrates the industry's most advanced power management functions: the product has a built-in integrated DC-DC buck converter that can accurately adjust the output voltage according to system requirements; in working state, its system power consumption is significantly lower than similar products on the market, requiring only 3.1mA when transmitting and 2.5mA when receiving; in sleep mode, the current is as low as 500nA. These power management and energy-saving features help to significantly extend the service life of small battery-powered systems and easily meet the stringent power consumption requirements in the tire pressure monitoring system mission configuration.
AEC-Q100 automotive-grade certified and equipped with the latest safety features
As a product that meets the AEC-Q100 Grade 2 standard, DA14533 has passed rigorous testing to ensure excellent quality and reliability in extreme vehicle environments. In addition, the extended temperature range of the product (-40 to +105°C) can further guarantee reliable performance under harsh conditions, making it an ideal choice for systems with extremely high requirements for stability and durability in automotive, industrial and other fields. The product complies with the Bluetooth Core Specification 5.3 and includes the latest security features to protect connected devices from various threats.
Shorter BOM, lower costs and simplify development
Similar to other Bluetooth low energy SoC devices in the SmartBond Tiny product family, the DA14533 requires only 6 external components, providing a best-in-class engineering bill of materials (eBOM). A single external crystal oscillator (XTAL) is used for both operating and sleep modes, eliminating the need for a separate oscillator for sleep mode. The ultra-compact design in a WFFCQFN 22-pin 3.5mm x 3.5mm package makes it the smallest automotive-grade Bluetooth low energy SoC on the market. Thanks to the small design and simplified eBOM, this product can be seamlessly integrated into space-constrained systems, reducing overall system cost and shortening time to market for customers.
